Wearing earphones while talking to others

It's the 21st century, and personal music players have become ubiquitous. Even phones can play music nowadays.
Here's a usage tip that's probably not mentioned in any user manual:
Don't wear your earphones while talking to others
It's rude. It makes it look as if you're only (at best) half listening to your collocutor. It's probably equivalent to hurriedly mumbling "yeah.... yeah, all right.... yeah, ok....", while trying to cut a conversation short, or escape it.
"But the music's off!" some may say. We're human, and to humans perception is reality. You WILL be perceived as rude if conversing in person while wearing your earphones.
